The bar chart and line graph illustrate the number of medals, classified as bronze, silver and gold, won by five countries in the winter Olympics and the summer Olympics. With regards to the winter Olympics, the number of medals received by Norway was just above 300, making them the highest medal achievers as opposed to slightly over 150 for Canada, the country that won the least number of medals. Approximately 275 medals were achieved by the Americans, just over 200 by the Germans and almost 200 by the soviet people. In terms of the summer Olympics, the Americans were the highest medal achievers, bagging approximately 2500 medals. The USSR came in second by winning a total of 1000 medals. The nations that won the fewest medals (less than 1000) were France, Germany and Great Britain. Overall, the countries that were successful in both the Olympics were the USA and USSR. While, the Norwegians bagged the most medals in the winter Olympics, the Americans were the highest medal winners in the summer Olympics.
