This report sets out to assess the current benefits and inconveniences about the implementation of home working in the company. Finally, ways to implement this new working opportunities will be suggested.
Some information compilation and staff surveys have been assessed to understand how this measure could influence the company's productivity apart from knowing the employees' opinion. It was found that some staff members would be more motivated, therefore, it could influence job performance. However, several managers were reluctant to it, given that their staff would be less controlled.
The reasons for the growth of happiness among the staff were several. Firstly, employees point out that doing some work from home could improve their productivity and confidence. Furthermore, published research indicates that, in case staff members are keen on implementing such measure, this would increase job satisfaction.
Nevertheless, surveys cited few issues which would be needed to address. The main critical point would be the unaccesability to PP&E that some employees could experience. Moreover, the lack of supervision and guidance would also be an issue to address, as it has been pointed out by some managers.
In order to solve the problems presented, I would recommend creating a single fund in case employees need any equipment. Despite being a good measure to increase staff's productivity, it should also be accompained with internal regulatory mechanisms to ensure this does not affect negatively the company.
