Renault’s newly launched sub-4m SUV, the Kiger, will be affected too
It will be Renault’s second price hike in the year 2021.
Price increase will vary depending on the models.
Rise in various input costs is the reason behind the price increment.
The hike will be applicable from April 1, 2021.
Renault India's portfolio currently comprises four models, Kiger, Duster, Triber, and the Kwid. Now, the carmaker has announced a price hike across all of its lineup, due to the increased input costs including the rising prices of raw materials. Renault had first hiked the prices in January 2021, which saw a rise of up to Rs 40, 000.
Here are the current price ranges of Renault cars:
Model
Existing Prices (ex-showroom)
Kwid
Rs 3. 12 lakh to Rs 5. 31 lakh
Kiger
Rs 5. 45 lakh to Rs 9. 72 lakh
Triber
Rs 5. 30 lakh to Rs 7. 82 lakh
Duster
Rs 9. 57 lakh to Rs 13. 87 lakh
While the quantum of the price hike is not specified, the updated pricing is likely to be announced in the coming days. Along with Renault, its sibling carmakers, Nissan and Datsun have also announced a price hike across their range due to the escalation in the prices of auto components.
In other news, Renault hit a milestone by delivering over 1, 110 units of the Kiger on the first day of sales, read the full article here. The Kiger carries a waiting period of up to 2 months.
