The bar chart illustrates the proportions of companies in terms of social media presence between 2012 and 2016. Overall, during the 4-year period, the percentage of businesses using social media increased noticeably; also, the rate of large enterprises was the highest compared to the remaining types of company. According to the data, small businesses witnessed a gradual increase in the use of social media between 2012 and 2014 from more than 25% to 35%; meanwhile, the figure for medium companies rose sharply with more than 30% in 2012 to nearly 50% in 2014. Both small and medium enterprises decreased significantly in social media presence in 2015 to about 30%, before reaching to peak at nearly 50% and over 50% in 2016 respectively. It can be clearly seen that the percentage of social media involvement of large businesses was the highest out of 3 types of company. The figure for large enterprises maintained at just under 80% except for 2015, when the media presence rate fell considerably to over 50%.
