The diagram demonstrates the stages in the process of working a system which is called Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion. The seawater below 1000 meters is cold and has a temperature of about5 degrees celsius. The seawater above 1000 meters is warm and has a temperature of about 29 degrees. Firstly, the warm seawater on the surface enters to evacuated evaporation chamber where the seawater is evaporated by solar energy forming water vapor. During the evaporation, the salt is removed and falls down. Afterwards, the saltless water vapor is sent to the turbine where the vapor turns creating electricity. Next, the hot vapor is sent to the condensing chamber and the vapor coming from the turbine is cooled by cold water from the deep layers of the ocean and the process of condensation is taken place. After condensing, the vapor turns into liquid water which is used for drinking.
