The graphs illustrate the changes in numbers of urban and rural populations around the globe and percentage of urban population in three continents and globally. Overall, there number of urban population is projected to be increasing globally, while the number of rural poulation is relatively fluctuative. The numbers of population in urban areas in Africa, North America, Asia, and globally have a similar increasing trend. In 1950, there were approximately 800 millions of people who live in urban area, while the figures for Rural area were just under 2000 millions. However, this figure will change drastically in 2050, where almost 6100 millions of people will prefer to live in urban area. This figure is double the size of people who is in rural area that is at 3000 millions. The percentage of people who live in urban part of North America in 1950 was around 65 percent and the rest of the world only had 30%. Around 18 percent of the population in Africa lived in the urban area, this figure is the lowest among the other areas. Africa is forecasted to have 50% of its population to be in urban areas while Asia will have slighly more than Africa, that is around 53 percent.
