The bar chart provides information about the money reward given to male and female athlete when they win at a golf major in 2010. Overall, some of the majors only had one gender participating and an example of this was the Masters major. However, there were championships that had a category for both gender and an example of this were the US Open, Open Championship, PGA Championship. For female-only championship the ANA Inspiration had the smallest prize pool of only roughly 400, 000, which is the smallest out of all the other championships in that year. The Evian Championship gave half a million to the female winner, which was only a quarter of what was handed out to the male winner for Masters where the prize was 2, 000, 000. The huge difference between earnings were also happening in the US Open, which gave money to both gender. It gave the highest prize of approximately 2, 200, 000 to male athlete, but only around 800, 000 for female athlete, which was less than half of what their male counterpart earn.
