These diagrams represent the percentages of people from three different age groups (0-14, 15-59, and 60+), living in Yemen and Italy in the year 2000 and an estimation of these proportions in the year 2050.
Overall, it is estimated that by the year 2050, the older population, above 60 years of age, would increase in number in both countries. Conversely, the percentage of individuals below 15 years would decrease.
In regard to Yemen, nearly half of the population were younger than 15 years in 2000. This figure would decrease significantly in the year 2050 to reach 37%. Whereas an increase is expected to 5. 7% and 57. 3% for the inhabitants over 60 and those aging 15-59 years respectively.
