Percentage of UK people who consumed daily recommended amount of fruit and vegetable in 2002, 2006 and 2010. OBX3
The bar graph provides information on the recommended proportion of fruit and vegetables daily eaten by the citizens of the United Kingdom for the year 2002, 2006 and 2010. It is also spilt based on men, women and children. Overall, it appears that women are the major consumer of fruits and vegetables and the group of children displayed a striking change in their consumption while the figures of men did not undergo any crucial variation. An analysis of the data illustrates that in 2002, the group that received the least amount of nutrition was that of children while both male and female consumed a healthy amount of nutrients of 22% and 25% respectively. As for 2006, the intake of healthy food of women was 32 per cent whereas that of men and children were 26 per cent and 18 per cent accordingly. There is a positive growth of 7 per cent in the intake volume of children for the year 2006 as compared to the year 2002. Women remained the leading consumer of fruits and vegetables towards the end of the documented period.
