The diagram shows the different stages in the process of converting an animal hide into leather goods. Overall, the process consists of numerous steps starting with drying animal skin and ending with manufacturing final leather products. The first stage of the process is drying. Animal skin is dried in the air by hanging it on a rope. After that, it was transported by lorry to the factory, where it was washed in water and lime solution. As soon as dried skin is washed, it is transferred to another vat where it is soaked in lime. In the following step, the hide is then sent to a large rolling machine where it is smoothed and flattened. Next, skin is soaked in tannin which is made of water and vegetable matter. Subsequently, polishing is done with the help of a machine. Finally, this polished leather is transferred to the factory, where different items such as shoes, bags, heels and balls are produced.
