This line graph demonstrates the amount of traveler choice to travel in railway systems around Great Britain from 1950 to 2004/5. Overall, The National rail network and London Underground shares the similar moving trend while Light rail and metro systems only made some slight changes.
As can be seen in the graph, the National rail network has a rate at one thousand millions which is higher than London Underground just under seven-fifty hundred millions. However, between 1960 and 1970 both of them started to gently decline to around seven-fifty hundred millions while this was the time where Light rail and metro systems appeared in the graph but at a very low position just over fifty millions. But right after the year 1980, both National rail network and London Underground bottom out at just above five hundred million, opposite Light rail and metro systems reached the peaks at one hundred million. After that, the two highest recovered and witnessed a dramatic increase back to one thousand million and took over each other. On the other hand, Light rail and metro systems only make some adjusted rights just under two-fifty hundred million in the same period.
