Life-cycle of Salmon- From Eggs to Adult

The chart illustrates the various development stages of salmon as it evolves from an egg to mature fish which is a complex and natural process. Overall, the salmon fish goes through six stages of development though its life cycle starting from incubation to final maturation, and it spends it lives in three distinct location- river, estuary, and ocean. At the first step of the process, the salmon lay eggs in the river which undergo incubation and after completion of the process there is the next step of emergence of infant salmon which spend some time in the freshwater. In the next stage, these baby fish swim into the estuary where they grow further called as estuary rearing. After maturing for a brief period of time the young salmon moves into the ocean where they specifically migrate to rearing areas. The final stage of the process is further evolution into adulthood where the growth and maturation of the salmon occurs. When the salmon has fully developed, they start migrating to from the ocean to the spawning areas of the river. The grownup salmons lay eggs and the life cycle of the next generation starts over.
