This pie chart shows what people prefer to do in their leisure time in the UK in 1961. It is clear from the chart that most of the individuals spent their free time with watching TV or listening radio programs. One could use this evidence to support their ideas that people were not so different in the past, they were usually spending their times with screens. Less than a quarter of people were either socialising or eating out, going to theather for movies or drinking at a pub in their leisure time. This could also be considered as socialising in general. The less common activities were doing some sort of sports or going for a walk. Only 1 in 40 people chosed to do exercises at that time. The illustration not giving detailed information for almost a quarter of the participants, but it is known that they were spending their leisure time at home doing various activities. All in all, we can say that most of the people in the UK were spending their leisure time at home in 1961.
