IELTS TASK 1: four different vehicles used in the UK in three given years nxY9l
The three pie charts illustrate the use of four different vehicles in the United Kingdom in 1965, 1985 and 2005. These vehicles include private cars, public transport, lorries and other commercial vehicles as well as recreational vehicles.
Generally, the majority of transportation options, including public transport, lorries, and other commercial vehicles, and recreational vehicles, experienced decline once over the periods shown. In contrast, the popularity of driving private cars increased notably and continually.
From 1965 to 1985, the use of private cars saw remarkable growth, increasing from 40% up to 55%. By contrast, public transport fell slightly from 25% to 20%. As for lorries and other commercial vehicles, the figure for that remained stable. The use of recreational vehicles fall by over half, where it went from 15% to 5%, which accounted least in both 1965 and 1985.
From 1985 onwards, the use of private cars continued to increase, although not as immensely as in the previous 20 years. Originally, public transport as well as lorries and other commercial consisted of the same proportion in 1985 but witnessed different pattern from 1985 to 2005, which made up 22% and 10% respectively. Conversely, lorries and other commercial vehicles declined drastically where they halved in usage from 20% in 1985 to just 10% in 2005.
