The line graph demonstrates how many people visited Malaysia and Dubai over a nine-year period. According to the graph, it is evident that both experienced an upward trend until the year 2001 in which Malaysia’s numbers started to decline.
At the beginning of the period, in 1995, the number of tourists visiting Malaysia was around hundred thousand, little more than twice of that of Dubai. During 1995 and 1998, both countries showed a significant increase in their patterns, apart from a drop in the number of visitors to Malaysia in 1996. In the year 1998, the both parties’ figures got considerably close, separated by nearly 20 thousand. Despite the fall in 1999, Dubai rose the same level as Malaysia, just over 250 thousand tourists, thanks to a sharp increase in visitors in the following year. For the years 2000 and 2001, Malaysia and Dubai’s figures were extremely close and after 2001, the numbers started to deviate.
