I live in a nuclear family including my father, my mother, my younger sister and my younger brother. I have helped my parents with housework since I was a little girl. I usually do the washing-up after the meals and cook lunch. Because both my parents work, we split the chores equally for all members. My mother often prepares breakfast and dinner and shops for groceries. My younger sister and I lay the table for meals. After dinner, my sister takes out the rubbish. And my dad puts the clothes in the washing machine and hangs them to dry, sometimes irons them too, then my brother folds the clothes. We have a small garden on the fifth floor so in the early morning and the late afternoon my brother waters plants and sometimes picks vegetables. Of course, my father does all the heavy lifting. At the weekend, we spend an afternoon mopping the house from the fifth floor to the first floor. However, this division of chores will be flexibly changed to suit each person.
