The bar chart illustrates the proportion of households in owned accommodation and households in rented accommodation in England and Wales from 1918 to 2011. Overall, it can be seen that the highest percentage of all households is in rented accommodation, while households in owing accommodation consistently accounted for the lowest proportion. Moreover, a significant decrease in the proportion of households in rented accommodation can be seen over the period of time. the percentage of households in owned accommodation starts with 20 percent in the year 1918, then it remain constant in the year 1939 to 1953. After that from the year 1961 to the year 2011 it gradually increases over the period of time, while the percentage of households in rented accommodation starts with 75 percent in the year 1918 and then it gradually decreases with the period of time in 1918 to 2011. In terms of households in owned accommodation and households in rented accommodation in England and Wales in the year 1918 to 2011, the rate remains stable in 1971 upto 50 percent. To compare both the households in 1918, the household owing is 20 percent as compared to household rented which is upto 75 percent, while in 2011 the household owning is 65 percent as compared to household renting 35 percent
