The bar diagram depicting the proportion of pupils who smoke in Britian from 1950 to 1990, based on the two genders. Overall, it is apparent from the charts that the women showed the highest ratio of smokers throughout the year, as compared to the men. The most noticeable point is that the percentage of masses who used to smoke experienced a downward trend by the end of the year. To commence with the male smokers, it stood at 80% in the first year which was roughly four times more than the female smokers. The figure started to decline slowly in 1960 by 3%. However, over the following next 20-year period, it dropped significantly from a little more than 70% to less than the two quarters. Regarding with the women smokers, approximately 20% of smokers were accounted for girls in 1959 and it inclined minimally to 20% in 1960. Similarly, it grew gradually to roughly 45% in 1980. In contrast, the figure plunged slightly to just over 39% in the final (1990).
