The graphical representation depicts the quality of products that has transported through different means like road, water, rail and lastly through pipelines in England from 1974 to 2002.
The graph reveals that the items which were transported via pipeline was around 3 million tonnes in 1974 to 1978. After 1978, it showed an upward trend till 1995. From 1995 to 2002, it remained constant of about 22 million tonnes. The goods transported through road showed an oscillation in the quantity. Started with about 70 million tonnes in 1974, it marginally rise till 1978 and then fall through 1981. Again it shows a zigzag pattern of climb and fall reaching to around 98 million tonnes which was highest via any means of transportation.
The water and rail routes showed almost same amount of transportation from 1974 to 1978, after which water increased till 1982 whereas rail decreased till 1984. Water way was steady and then slightly reduced till 1998. In 2002, it showed a growth of about 8 million tonnes. Railways had displayed a decrease and then slightly increase in amount of transportation. After which it remained steady, then again showed decline and finally displayed an inclination of about 41 million tonnes in 2002.
