The chart shows the unemployment rate in Australia in the year 2012 both in rural and urban areas. Firstly, the unemployment rate in rural areas in any given time is more than the unemployment rate in urban areas. However, the rural area unemployment has significantly decreased in the first secomnd quarter of the year, while the urban unemployment rate has increased in the second quarter of the year. Although, the unemployment rate in rural areas is more comparatively than that of urban areas, there is a significant decrease in the unemployment rate from 6. 5% to 4. 5% in the first to second quarter of the year. However, after the second quarter of the year the unemployment rate has increased 1% from 4. 5% to 5. 5% and was the same by the end of the year. Although, the rate of unemployment is comparatively less than rural areas at any given time there is a significant increase in unemployment rate in the first second quarters from 2. 1% to 4%. The unemployment rate sees a drop in third quarter with an increase fourth quarter of the year.
