The chart illustrates the number of male and female engaged in further education in Britain. The chart is divided into three periods showing full-time and part-time study. Overall, the number of men and women studying part-time is high compared with studying full-time. While both male and female are similar in numbers. With regards to full time education for men, we observed a consistence raise in 1970, which was below 200 thousands and started to increase in 1980, and it exceeded 200 thousands in 1990/91. On the other hand, for female there was an obvious jump from 1970 to 1980 and it becomes stable in 1990. The number of male engaged in part-time study is decrease in 1980 by approximately 100, 000, and it has increased again in 1990. Meanwhile, the female number of part-time study raised from 800, 000 to one million in 1990.
