The bar chart illustrates the comparison of six eu countries that use fuel for transportation with eu average, in 2009 to 2010. It can be clearly seen, that fuel usage in transport sector in the EU decreased and was higher than other countries except Slovakia. Slovakia consumed in close proximity to 9% of the national fuel consumption in 2009 and in 2010 declined to 6. 5%. In spite of the recession Slovakia was the highest figure of two years among others. The percentage of energy absorption in Spain followed the same trend as in Slovakia. Which was approximately 4% in 2009 and slightly decreased around 1% and became 3% in 2010. A further prominent feature is that Italy, France and Greece follows the opposite trend in fuel usage. Their figure sharply increased around for 1% from 2009 to 2010. The energy consumption data of Greece was the lowest from 2009 to 2010, namely around 1% and 2%. In contrast to the fluctuating rates of other countries, Austria has the most stable percentage from 2009 to 2010, which was approximately 5%.
