From 1930 to 2010 the village of Stokeford showed multiple changes and renovations. Back at 1930, the town was much more rural and by 2010 it evolved as an urban town. Let’s analyze both maps closely. First, its noticeable how in 1930 there was more space for farmlands. Also, there were no more than 10 families living at the village in their considerably tiny houses. As a consequence, the Primary School was also pretty small. We can see that every single edification was located in the principal road down the bridge, considering the two small shops and the post office. Finally, below the Primary School it was situated a large house with some private gardens. This was expected to be the governor’s house. Moving now to the year 2010, clearly we can se how Stokeford had some tremendous changes. The most important one is the construction of new roads with a considerably number of new houses. These roads were considered only for living purposes. Due to the amount of people moving into the village, the school had to expand so all children had the opportunity to study there. At the same time, the large house was larger than ever before and it was considered as a retirement home. On the other hand, we can notice that the shops were removed. However, the post office still remains in the same place. Even though in a spare of 80 years the village of Stokeford has shown some vigorous changes, I believe that it is still a small town that it’s developing slowly.
