Following graph and table below give details about the global fuel usage and its consumption in two separate countries. Overall we observe that India consumed more fuel per person than Sri Lanka and highest fuel used was for industrial use and the least fuel was for agricultural purposes.
For Industrial purpose, there was a steady rise in the global fuel consumption by sector from 1990 to 1940; 500km3-550km3 respectively. However, this number was gradually increased upto 2000km3 from years(1940 to 1970). In 1970 to 1980, the amount of fuel consumed globally remained the same; 2000km3. For domestic use, this was remained lower still which was less than 500km3 from year 1990 to 1960, then a sudden rise in number which goes upto 1000km3. For agricultural use, globally fuel usage remained less in number.
In India, the total number of irrigated land was 26, 500km2 in 2000 and fuel consumed per person was 359km2 where the population was fairly around 176 million which was more than sri lanka. . In comparison, in Sri Lanka, the total population was 5. 2 million in the irrigated land of 100 km2 where every person consumed fuel roughly around 8km3.
