Overall, the sale of coffee in the UK and bananas in Switzerland escalated substantially; meanwhile less amount of money spent on coffee in Sweden and bananas in Denmark, which depict a notable decline. In terms of coffee, the UK at 5 million in 1999 escalated to 20 million which is almost three times higher than the following country Switzerland with 3 million in 1999 to 6 million in 2004. Denmark and Belgium at 1. 8 and 1 in 1999 increased to 2 and 1. 7 in 2004. Sweden at 0. 8 in 1999 merely grew to 1 in 2004 the lowest in all five countries. In regard to Bananas, Switzerland goes up from 15 million to 47 million three times the outlays in 1999 followed by the UK with an overall growth of five times from 1 in 1999 to 5. 5 in 2004. Belgium grew in expenditure on bananas from 0. 6 in 1999 to 4 in 2004 while Sweden and Denmark witnessed a downward trend from 1. 8 to 1 and 2 to 0. 9 respectively.
