Energy production by Windmills.

Energy production by Windmills. 6lnWG
The given diagram illustrates the process of generation of electricity in a windmill. Overall, The generator in a windmill, converts the energy of rotating blades into electricity and supplies this to a powerlines. The major componets include high velocity wind, rotor baldes, gearbox, generator, power cable and tranformer. we can deduce from the diagram, the wind energy gives rise to rotation of rotor blades. These blades inturn are connected to the generator through a gear box. The generator produces electricity. The rpm of rotor blades depend up on the velocity of on coming air flow. So the output depends up on velocity of air. In order to maintain a constant rpm the gear box is used. This results in constant rpm of shaft connected to generator. As a result equal amount of energy is produced by the generator. The produced energy is tranmistted through long distance powerlines from power house.
