The graph shows data about the total annual income of three different bakeries of the city of London between the years 2000 and 2010.
The over-all trend is upward for two of the three bakeries, Bernie’s Buns and Robbie’s Bakery, respectively shown in green and in pink in the graph. Lovely Loaves, on the contrary, experienced a downward trend in the earnings during the whole period. An interesting point is that the yearly income of Lovely Loaves was the highest in the first year, 2000, whereas in 2010 Robbie’s Bakery was the most popular one.
Between 2000 and 2002 Bernie’s Buns earned around £20, 000 a year. The bakery then experienced a rise in the total profit in 2003, reaching about 40, 000 £ a year, and remaining stable until 2005. In 2006, it suffered a slight fall, but then in the last three years it recovered, reaching a peak of more than £60, 000 in 2010.
If we look at Robbie’s Bakery, it had a constant total annual income of about 55, 000 £ in the first five years. The trend then climbs, gradually at first, reaching in 2007 an income of £65, 000. It consistently rises again between 2008 and 2010.
Regarding Lovely Loaves, the amount of money earned fluctuated in the first four years, but then the bakery went through an overall decline. In particular, the annual profit plummeted dropped dramatically between 2004 and 2005, and then again in 2008.
All in all, Robbie’s Bakery showed the sharpest climb, followed by Bernie’s Buns, which experienced an increase of £45, 000 a year. Lovely Loaves went through the greatest decline during the 10-year period.
