The chart below illustrates three different groups of people (men, women, children) in the UK eating five portions of fruit a day in a period of time between 2001 and 2008. The measure was on percent. Overall, proportion of women who ate the portion mentioned was the highest compared to other groups over the period. This eating habit on all the groups experienced steady increase, in spite of slightly declined at the end of the period. The number of women ate the portion was higher than men and children with highest margin in 2003 by 15 % and 10% respectively. In addition, It increased steadily reaching its peak (30%) in 2006 before dropped slightly in 2007 and 2008 into below 30%. In the other hand the number of men eating five portions of fruit and vegie was more fluctuative as it showed stagnancy in three first years of the period by approximately 15% before rose significantly reaching around 27% in 2006 and 2007. However, It declined slightly at the end of the year by about 2%. The children which was the lowest number of group eating five portion of fruits showed significant increase by 10% in 2004 after three years of being stagnant. It climbed to 25% in 2007 and fell down to around 23% a year after.
