The collection of two graphs gives the reader information about computer ownership between 2002 and 2010 and the percentage of ownership across various education levels across the same time frame.
From the first graph we can see that the computer ownership has been gradually increasing. The growth of any particular year as compared to the previous year appears to be consistent all throughout from 2002 to 2010.
In the second graph, we notice how the level of education affects the person’s need for a computer. Irrespective of their educational qualifications, the sheer number of people who owned computers in 2002 have increased in 2010. In 2002 among the people with no high school diploma, the ownership of computer more than doubled as compared to people with a high school diploma. There is also a significant increase in computer ownership between a high school graduate and a college student and that of a college student and college graduate in 2002.
Moving eight years ahead, we can see that the computer ownership drastically increased among the following category of people – folk with no high-school diploma, folks with one, and college students. It can be noted that between 2002 and 2010, the doesn’t seem to be any significant difference in computer ownership between people with bachelor’s degree and postgraduate qualifications indicating that most people by then have computers of their own.
