The provided line graph makes a comparison of the complaints about noise from 4 different categories including road works, factories, traffic noise and household to Environmental health authorities in Newtown over a period of 16 years, commencing from 1980. From an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that while road works, factories, and traffic noise witnessed an upward tendency, domestic/household was inversely correlated, in which there was a sixth plummet in domestic data and a two-fold increase in the remaining ones. In 1996, road works was at the leading position and by far superior to others after witnessing a dramatic rise to roughly 1200 complaints. At the same time, the similarity could be also seen in factories and traffic noise, with their peaks at around 700 and 600 complaints respectively. Domestic noise, on the contrary, decreased annually prior to touching the nadir to just below 100 complaints.
