The bar chart above illustrates the outcomes of a survey on the coffee and tea consumption habits in five Australian cities. Overall, the most popular means of getting a caffeinated beverage was to visit a café in all but one of the cities included in the survey. The least popular method was to purchase fresh coffee. In Sydney, roughly 61% went to a café while 45% purchased instant coffee and slightly fewer bought fresh coffee at 44%. In Melbourne on the other hand nearly 64% went to a café which is the highest percentage among the 5 cities. Nearly half got instant coffee and close to 42% purchased fresh coffee. Moving to Brisbane, just over 55% went to a café to get their fix while 53% bought instant coffee and a mere 34% got themselves fresh coffee. The pattern in Adelaide differs from the other cities as half the people surveyed purchased instant coffee while 48% had gone to a café. The pattern in Hobart was comparable to the other cities. About 63% went to a café while 54% had purchased instant coffee and only 38% got fresh coffee.
