The maps illustrate changes made to the Grange Park after its first opening in 1920. Overall, most of the layout of the park were changed even though the size of the park has remained the same
At its first open in 1920, the Grange Park, a public park, had two main entrances on Eldon Street and Arnold Avenue. A fountain was located in the middle of park, and next to it was a stage for musicians. There were three rose gardens: one was located on Eldon Street side, and the other two were located on Arnold Avenue side. A glasshouse was located on the right side of Eldon Street entrance when entering the park. Opposite the glasshouse was a pond for water plants. Seats were placed around the park.
At present, the two main entrances have been unchanged, and an entrance from an underground car park has been built on the right side of Eldon Street gate. The fountain has changed to a rose garden with seats around it. The stage for musicians has renovated to an amphitheatre for concert with more seating capacity. The glasshouse has been replaced with a water feature. A children’s play area, formerly a pond for water plants, has been added next to a new café. The only area that has stayed unaffected is the rose garden on Arnold Avenue, close to the amphitheatre.
