Overall it can be seen that, cases of car thefts were maximum and Street robbery were minimum among the given crimes and an upward trend was showed in the graph.
The cases of car theft were highest throughout the entire period when compared to others. At first, in 1970, the count of the cases stood at 0. 2 million, whereas it gradually rised over the period from 1970 to 1990 and reached 1 million at last year. However, the following year witnessed a rapid increase and hit a high of 1. 6 million. In the next decade, 1995 to 2005, the number of car theft fell significantly to just below 1 million.
The number of house bargalary showed a similar trend as car theft for the first 10 year, after which the number of fluctuated and reached 0. 5 million by 2005.
Number of street robbery were remains stable and till 1990, then there was a considerable growth in the cases, over the next decade and reached 0. 2 million. After that there was a stability in street robbery.
