This line graph compares the numbers of car theft in four countries between the years 1990 and 1999. Overall, the thefts in Britain were the highest throughout the period, and by a large margin. However, Sweden saw a significant rise in car thefts, especially in the last five years. The number in France and Canada only fluctuated slightly with France being the highest of the two. Britain had its highest record of car thefts in 1992 and 1996 with a rate of around 20 thefts for every 1000 vegicle, which is approximately double the numbers in Canada or France. While the rates in Britain kept decreasing in the last 3 years; Sweden recorded the highest number of thefts in this time with a peak slightly under 15 thefts per 1000 vegicle in 1999. Sweden also had the most increase of approximately 3 folds over the whole period. Canada had the lowest recods from 1991 onward, and Frace was the second lowest with similar pattren.
