Bar chart shows married men and women in different categories spending time in unpaid jobs lX5j1
The bar graph displays the amount of time spent by married men and women on unpaid jobs. The overall view depicts married women to have spent the highest amount of time on unpaid chores in contrast to their male counterparts. It is observed that the presence of children stupendously increases the time to be rendered to these jobs. Comparing married women with 3 or more children to females that do not have kids, it is evident that there is an appalling amount of difference in the workload and time spent, with the former category spending 60 hours a week and the latter just 30. Married women with 1 to 2 children spent 50 hours a week which is slightly less compared to the females with 3 or more children. Taking into account married men in all the presented categories, it can be derived that the amount of time spent is not only similar but also remains magnanimously unchanged which further emphasizes the astonishing gender gap in the contribution to unpaid jobs
