The Covid-19 pandemic is predicted to cause a global recession. Various studies have estimated that the Covid-19 pandemic will reduce economic growth to a range of 1% to 4%. Research conducted by the SMERU Research Institute also revealed that the mildest impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on economic growth in Indonesia was an increase in the poverty rate from 9. 2% in September 2019 to 9. 7% at the end of 2020. This means that there will be 1, 3 million people who fell into poverty. Meanwhile, the worst projection shows that the poverty rate in Indonesia will increase by 14. 4% (equivalent to 8. 5 million people will be poor).
