I agree with the idea that advertising encourages us to purchase things that we do not actually need. Sometimes, advertisement is like a magic that manipulates our mind. For example, even though you never plan to go travel or change your cellphone, you feel like you want to go see the emerald beach after seeing a Cancun vacation package advertisement or you want to change your mobile phone to new model after seeing the release of new model in an advertisement. I strongly believe advertisements have a huge power to make people to want more and more by showing how happy you could be with it or how unlucky you would be without it. Let me talk about a story that I experienced few years ago. I saw an online advertisement for a smart watch. It was saying how much it is useful and how trendy it is. I am the person who never like to have any kind of watch or jewelries in light of the fact that it is not pleasant to have something on my body. I am like more simple person. However, that advertisement made me buy the smart watch by making me feel like I need it for a living. A number of people might say that advertising provides us with information about new products that may enhance our lives. However, I strongly believe that it is more likely to control our mind to spend extra money on something we did not plan and cause an unhealthy expense habit.
