Your colleague who has been working with you for a long time is leaving. However, you cannot attend a farewell party. Write a letter to your colleague. In your letter; • Explain why you cannot attend the party • How you feel about his/her leave • Suggest a date and time to meet him/her

Dear Sir or Madam, Thank you for inviting me for your farewell party. However I wouldn't be able to attend the function as I have a doctors appointment on the same day. As I told you before, I have been suffering from severe back pain for the past one week, so I decided to consult a doctor over the weekend as it became very difficult to sit and work in office. As the doctor has a busy schedule, to get another appointment I will have to wait for more days. But I feel extremely unfortunate to miss this event as you were not just a colleague to me, I always had an extended friendship with you. Moreover, its years now that we are working together and many times we got a chance to be in the same project too. So it's without doubt that I would feel a void in your absence. You were not just helpful in work related problems but also extended hands to help me with personal issues. It would be great if we could host regular get togethers as before, even if we aren't in the same firm. To celebrate your growth in career, I invite you for dinner at my place on 4th March 2020. By this we would get enough time to spend together. Looking forward to meeting you soon for dinner.
