I am writing this letter to request the company’s support regarding a SQL training course I am interested in. The course aims to enable non-technical individuals to become comfortable using the Structured Query Language. It is a four week online course taught by SQL experts from around the world. The course requires fees for two platforms: 1. VideoLearn ($400/month) and 2. PractSQL($100/month).
As we have previously discussed, our team is moving its’ focus to data analytics projects. For the past 3 projects we have had to wait on the IT department for the data pull phase. Based on my discussion with Tim from IT, I have realized that the pull is usually a simple SQL statement but due to the IT team’s overwhelming load, it takes around two weeks for them to get back to us. At the end of this course, I would be able to handle the data pull phase and therefore the team can save time.
During the onboarding last year, I recall HR mentioning that there is financial support for any learning material that allows employees to develop new technical skills. Would you kindly let me know if this course would be eligible for the same?
