Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the article that was published in Nov, 2019 edition of your magazine, highlighting that the beach of Boracay doesn’t have comfortable accommodation options. As a native of the place, I would like to bring to your attention that Boracay has 150 hotels and resorts, some of which are of world-class standards. Your representative might have faced issues because most of the properties have been closed for 6 months as the government is putting in efforts to restore the beach and thus we are not entertaining tourists. Yours is a famous magazine which is read by millions across the globe. As tourism is the main industry here, I would request you to kindly correct the information. Last year, 5 million tourists arrived here and because of which heaps of garbage has been accumulated. Government is running cleanliness drives to restore the beach so that we can be ready for the next tourist season. Thus, many of the hotels and restaurants are not in operation. Moreover, I would request your magazine to highlight the issue that we have been facing, so that we can bring awareness amongst people and we become more responsible towards the beach. We, the locals, love Boracay and we all know that tourist loves the beach as well. It is important that we become more sensitive to the ecosystem. I look forward to a response from your team.
