Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to let you know my views on an article, published by The Daily Mirror with the headline “Town centres in Sri Lanka”. It was well written with facts and figures and current statistics. It is true that there are clock towers erected in the midst of the towns and the shopping complexes revolve around that area. Moreover, most of the government buildings including the local municipality council, electricity board could be found in the vicinity. However, I found the centre of Moratuwa, which is one of the oldest cities in the country quite different from others. Renovated ancient buildings, which belonged to the British ruling era, dominate the centre. Also, the lush green plaza by the river show case beautiful carpentry the city is famous for. Further, the shopping and trading take place in down town furthest from the centre. I would be glad to offer you a guided tour around the town if you wish to know more details about Moratuwa.
