Dear members of the council I am writing to you to highlight a concern amongst the residents of the Greenwood Apartment. I was recently informed by my neighbor that a developer is planning to build Shopping Centre near the apartment. My neighbor apprised me of the variety of shops, such as food joints, clothing stores, footwear stores, and gaming arena, that will be present in the shopping centre. While having these stores in the vicinity will make shopping convenient for the residents, people also have some concerns regarding this upcoming project. Residents are curious to know if the existing park, which includes play area for kids and jogging track for adults, will be demolished for constructing the shopping mall at the same site. Another primary concern is the amount of traffic will drastically increase in the current peaceful vicinity. The third concern amongst all residents is if the shopping centre will have ample parking space within the mall’s parking lot or the visitors will have to park on the road, which will cause disruption in the normal traffic. All these concerns were also discussed in the monthly Greenwood Apartment management meeting. The members of the management committee decided to raise these concerns to the council and wait for the response to ascertain the impact of the Shopping centre construction.
