Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing in response to an article published in your magazine, The Monologue, last Friday, about my home country, India and its culture.
I was pleased to see an article discussing the culture of my homeland. However, as I continued reading it, I was disheartened to see the misinformation it contained regarding the cultural emphasis on Hinduism. Along with that, stating that metropolitan cities in India did not have any historic places to visit is incorrect.
While reading the article, I came across a section that mentioned how Hinduism is the only religion that is majorly practiced in India. On the contrary, the truth is that India is a diverse democratic country where everyone practices their religious beliefs. Secondly, the article also highlighted that the cities lacked historic spots for visiting and knowing more about the Indian culture. I would like to point out that it is misconstrued information. In reality, historic places like Qutub Minar and Gateway of India are located in two of the biggest cities, Delhi and Mumbai.
It would be my polite suggestion to rectify the article and re-publish it at the earliest. I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Aarunima.
