George was an athletic type. He loved sports and tennis and swimming were his favourite ones. A year ago his PE teacher chose him to take part in a swimming competition to represent his school team. He was thrilled and couldn’t wait for it.
On the day of the competition, he got a shock when he arrived at the sports centre. Instead of taking his swimming suit and his goggles he had taken his racket by mistake because he was in a hurry.
Luckily, his best friend’s mother was there with him and he offered him to drive him back to his house as fast as she could. He put on his swimming costume, found his goggles and he quickly returned to the stadium. He came second and he won points for his school.
After the race, everyone laughed about George’s mistake. George was really excited for the second position and he promised himself to be more careful the next time.
