Hello James, I am writing to apply for the role of Assistant Librarian. I have seen the job posting in today’s newspaper. To start with my introduction first, my name is James, I am married, and father of two children. My hobbies are swimming, and listening to music, mainly old melodies. I commenced my professional career five years ago, and currently I am in the equivalent role in my current job. My responsibilities include supporting library functions, and researching about most relevant current affairs, and to bring the associated literature in form of books or magazines for the readers. Additionally, I am also engaged in a new initiative, which is bringing digital content to Library, to be par with the latest technology. The key reason, why I am looking for a change, is the distance between office and home. I need to spend around four hours in commutation, which has started impacting my family time and I also incur major travelling costs. I have seen the work address in today’s article, and I am joyful that it will be only ten minutes of journey. I do assure you, I will play a pivotal role in the profession and go beyond boundaries to ensure the right functioning.
