Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Amit Mangotra and I am writing to draw your attention to a small accident that took place last week in Champion store on Regent Street in Paris and I hope that necessary actions will be taken to avoid recurrence of such accidents.
Last Friday, I was shopping at the store when I heard a lady scream in the neighbouring aisle. When I went upto her, I found that the elderly lady was in a state of shock, her glasses were lying on the floor and a staff member was apologizing to her. After about five or ten minutes, when the lady had calmed down, she described what had happened. A packet of rice weighing 250g had fallen on her head while the staff member was trying to count the rice inventory on the top shelves. Although the item was not heavy, the impact threw her glasses to the ground, she was visibly taken aback and had screamed.
I would like that new guidelines be implemented immediately to avoid a repeat of such events. The inventory counting exercise should be carried out during non peak hours when there are few customers. Moreover, the staff should ensure that the entire aisle is vacant when they underake this activity. Imagine, what would have happened if the packet that fell on the lady's head was heavier.
Look forward to a swift response,
Yours sincerely,
Amit Mangotra
