Dear Sir,
I am from Nepal with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China. I plan to pursue a master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota or the University of St. Thomas.
As the cost for a master’s degree tried to dissuade me from applying there, I came across the job posting for a software developer Co-op at Entrust. An opportunity to work in such an entrusted company will help me in my studies.
Work experience in a telecom software company such as ZTEsoft/ whale-cloud has enhanced the knowledge that assists me in this position. Although most of my time was spent on handling the project as an assistant of a project manager such as admin, site survey, installation of servers in data-center, and overall deployment of software beginning from the software requirement specification(SRS) phase till babysitting, I took extra time to learn other technical skills such as SQL, Unix shell scripts, cybersecurity, and networking. After quitting my job due to my mother's health and economic condition during the pandemic, I have been helping my family in business and learning coding and other essentials.
Now that I wanted to pursue my education in the United States, I am worried that the price to get into it will obstruct me from achieving my goal. Therefore, I am hunting for jobs that help fund my schooling and align with my interest and skills.
However, numerous complications could avoid me from getting this job. I do not yet possess any VISA. Yet to get one, I need to secure my place at the University of Minnesota or from the University of St. Thomas. Or another option could be a VISA sponsor from Entrust Corp. Nevertheless, I would not trouble the company for this, although I would be highly delighted.
For the reasons mentioned, I would love to know my chances for the position of Software Developer for a part-time job as I will have to take time to study. Please refer to my CV and transcripts for further information. I will merrily be looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
Sincerely Yours,
Junesh Gautam
