Dear Teacher and all friends in the course, For this discussion thread, I think all of reading skills above necessary. I usually use skimming, scanning and predicting reading skills while I have a reading test or news by English. I have read some words which do not understand it's meaning. At the time, I have predicted with vocabulary in front of them or behind. In my opinion, the most difficulty reader second language learners is unknow more meaning words and structrure sentences. For example, I also used to fail a reading test because of doing not understand the test. Therefore, reading practice to help you understand simple texts and find specific information in everyday material. In additional, the skill help me understand texts with everyday or job-related language. Besides, my friends advice me use gloss and footnotes when practice reading skills. They say" " Probably know that even in your own language reading is regarded as important because it can be entertaining and educational, can open up new worlds and enrich your life, and can improve hand-eye co-ordination and enhance social skills. " I agree with them at the saying.
