Dear Turkish Scholarships Committee,
It is a great pleasure to support Nuray Tagiyeva, an 11th grade student of the Deyanet Lyceum in your undergraduate program. I am approached by a lot of students as a math teacher to write a recommendation letter, however I only assist those who I sincerely believe in their capability and suitability for chosen profession.
For these three years the only thing I observed is Nuray’s development both academically and personally. She is a highly organized, diligent student with a mature character. She always inspired me of her rare ability to nurture thoughtful opinions on a variety of quite complicated math problems. During 3 years, missing a class was a rare occurrence for her, she always did high quality homework with great enthusiasm. Even in pandemic she participated in my online lessons actively. Furthermore, not only her attention for the given lessons delighted me, but also her curiosity to tough math problems I give to those that do not have any questions about homework. During the process, Nuray always attempted to grasp the concept herself, mostly without any of my facilitation. For the reason that learning by one’s own effort is more effective rather than asking everything from a tutor.
In addition, Nuray is an active participant in our discussions, and she always supports her classmates. Her caring nature and personality allow her to work well with others in a team setting, as she always respects others' opinions even when they differ from her own. When we held a class debate about “ Why the product of two numbers will be maximum if they are the same while the sum is constant? “ Nuray opted to speak for the side opposite her own views. She explained her choice as motivated by a desire to put herself in other people's shoes, view the issues from a new perspective, and gain a clearer sense of the issue from all angles. Throughout 3 years, Nuray demonstrated this openness to and empathy for the opinions, feelings, and perspectives of others, all qualities that makes
her outstanding as a student of mathematics.
Considering my experiences with Nuray, I am confident about her both academic and personal skills and truly believe that she has high potential to succeed in your undergraduate program.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further information.
