Dear Johnson,
I am writing to you about my wonderful trip to Badagry slaves’ trade and heritage Museum which was a fantastic and a joyous moment that I have never experienced in life.
My family and I embarked on the journey to Badagry Slaves’ trade and heritage Museum in our Toyota highlander Jeep last month. The Museum is located at the eastern part of Lagos, and is about two hours’ drive from my country home (victory is mine) where we reside.
On arrival at the Museum, our first point of contact was the Heritage building also known as Brazilian slaves’ barracoon which happen to be the second storey building in Nigeria as we were told by the Instructor. The house was the central place for the negotiation of slaves with the merchandise. It is made up of wood, and well preserved. It contains different antiques made of ceramics, Animal bones and skins. The premises contain attenuation well. It was gathered that when slaves were given water from this well to drink, they loss their memory and they were taken to their destination. It was a total package of touching life exposure.
Secondly, we visited the Museum Gallery. Here are different halls full of collections of items. The first office is for the officials in charge of the Organization. While the remaining of the ground floor, is a big hall containing well-arranged materials and replica of items used by the slaves like animal skins for their clothes, relics, antiques of various kinds.
It is a nice and memorable experience that is good for everyone to share.
Kind regards,
Samuel.
